Each week during the high school sports season the High School Sports Examiner and the Eastern Maine Sports Blog will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations to Marc at firstname.lastname@example.org.
When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination.

Downeast Limousine male athlete of the week
Zack Bouchard- Stearns- baseball- had four hits and six RBI at the plate, and earned the pitching win, striking out 12 in six innings in 28-5 win over Katahdin. Threw a two hitter, striking out five in five inning mercy rule 18-0 win over PCHS. Bouchard finished the week with 24 strikouts in 11 innings, both wins.
Bouchard is the fifth student/athlete from Stearns high school to be named athlete of the week. He joins Sigi Koizar, Taylor Pelkey, Jordan Morrow, and Raychel Alley. Koizar earned the honor three times.
Jake Koffman- Orono- track- won the Javelin, Discus, and Shot in the first meet of the season at Hampden with the following results. Jav 132’10’ (runner up- (116’10’), Discus 149’4″ (runner up- 113’2″), Shot 47’6.25 (runner up-40’4.75).
Ryan Jurgiewich- Schenck- baseball- pitched a complete game 1 hitter, and struck out 17 with no walks in 6-0 win over Deer Isle-Stonington, he also went 2-3 with a RBI double. Had seven strikeouts in three innings and hit a run scoring double in 9-5 loss to Bangor Christian.
Jordan Hanscom- Mattanawcook- baseball- had three hits and three RBI in 13-0 win over Schenck.
Cody White- PCHS- baseball- struck out 11 in 4.2 innings to earn the victory on the mound in 20-10 win over Lee Academy.
Nate Burns- PCHS- baseball- had two hits, two runs scored, and three RBI in 20-10 win over Lee Academy.
Carter DeRedin- Bucksport- baseball- pitched a 3 hit complete game shutout with 15 strikeouts in 2-0 win over Ellsworth.
Eric Hoogterp- Old Town- baseball- had three hits, including a double, three runs scored, and a stolen base in 12-3 win over Foxcroft.
Braden Upshaw- Old Town- baseball- had three hits and five RBI in 12-3 win over Foxcroft.
Asher Bowden- Bucksport- baseball- earned the win on the mound, allowing only three hits and one earned, while walking one and striking out 12 in six innings in 8-2 win over Central. Bowden also had two hits and three RBI in the win over Central.
Hayden Craig- Bucksport- baseball- had two hits and three RBI in 8-2 win over Central.
Dylan Sopher- Bucksport- baseball- had three hits and one run scored in 8-2 win over Central.
Austin Smith- Mattanawcook- baseball- threw a four hitter and sturkc out six, while recording three hits and three RBI in 13-0 win over Stearns.
Gage Feeney- Washington Academy- baseball- Allowed one earned run on two hits and four walks, while striking out six while throwing a complete game in 2-1 over George Stevens who was undefeated coming in. Feeney also had a double with two RBI with the bat.
Nate Church- Foxcroft- baseball- Had three hits, falling just a home run shy of the cycle, two runs scored, two stolen bases, and one RBI, plus pitched 1.2 innings of scoreless relieft in 8-1 win over John Bapst.
Austin Tolman- MCI- baseball- pitched a complete game with 10 strikeouts, while going 2-3 at the plate with three RBI, including driving in the winning run in 7-6 win over Maranacook.
Zack Randall – Central – baseball- Pitched a complete game with 5 strikeouts and went 2-4 with one RBI and two runs scored in 7-0 win over Dexter.
