Big wins from The Wyatt Family, Sasha Banks and Neville, as well as the return of Jack Swagger and Rusev, made things abundantly clear: the WWE is in full youth movement mode and it couldn’t have happened at a better time. With Randy Orton, John Cena and a host of other WWE vets on the shelf, the young guns of the promotion are ready to take over.
Check out this week’s RAW Power Rankings to see who else starred in the first RAW on the road to TLC.
Honorable Mention: Sasha Banks: Although she had to get help from Naomi and Tamina Snuka in order to beat Becky Lynch this week on RAW, the fans love her regardless of if she’s a heel or not. One of the best workers in all of female wrestling, Banks can and will be a future WWE Divas Champion.
Don’t Forget: Paige: She’s not the Divas Champion, but she is controlled chaos in the ring and one of the best female talkers the WWE has had in years. While Charlotte Flair is the champion, she’s still developing-Paige’s growth as a performer has not only been good the WWE but also for her opponents.
5: The Tag Team Division: The Usos, The Dudley Boys, The New Day, The Ascension and The Lucha Dragons, as well as The Prime Time Players, combine in what is easily one of the deepest Tag Team divisions the WWE has had in years. Add in the four or five teams that have potential in NXT and it makes sense for the WWE to start to feature more duo action.
4: Jack Swagger: His return and newfound confidence are huge in spicing up the boring United States title scene. A former World Champion and United States Champion, Swagger is a terrific athlete and can work in the ring. He just needs an opportunity to prove himself on the mic and get over.
3: The Wyatt Family: With a win over The Dudley Boys this week on RAW, the Wyatt Family has shown no signs of weakness following their loss to The Undertaker and Kane at Survivor Series. With he charismatic Wyatt at the helm, these guys will continue to be one of the most dominant factions in the WWE.
2: Roman Reigns: Despite losing the WWE World Heavyweight title at Survivor Series, he’s still in the mix and will headline TLC with Sheamus. Don’t expect him to win that match either, but he will make it interesting.
1: Sheamus: Although he’s not a full-fledged member of The Authority just yet, his allegiance with Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, Wade Barrett and Rusev makes him even more dangerous. Don’t let Reigns’ stand this week on RAW fool you, Sheamus still has the advantage.
