A new United States Champion in the returning Alberto Del Rio and the conclusion of the Undertaker/Brock Lesnar war made for some interesting moments, but a stale rest of the card made sure that Hell in a Cell was a mediocre WWE Pay-Per-View, at best.
Kickoff: Dolph Ziggler, Cesaro and Neville vs. Sheamus, Wade Barrett and Rusev: Neville got the win with Red Arrow.
United States Champion John Cena vs. Alberto Del Rio w/Zeb Colter: Talk about back and forth. These guys traded offense the entire match. High-energy, the crowd fed off of it all and was completely split the entire match. Although Cena landed a ton of signature offense, Del Rio was hungry to land his Arm Bar throughout the match. After the Backstabber and the Kick to the face of the seated Cena, Del Rio won the United States title.
Bray Wyatt vs. Roman Reigns: This may have been the match of the night as far as non-title, mid-card matches are concerned. Reigns nailed Wyatt through a pair of tables with a Spear and a Powerbomb, but Wyatt hit a Urinage through a table as well. Simply put, these guys just beat the crap out of each other. Wyatt nearly got the win with the Sister Abigail, but Reigns shockingly kicked out. After Reigns threw Wyatt into a turnbuckle with a Kendo Stick in it, he landed the Spear for the win.
WWE World tag Team Champions The New Day: Big E. Langston and Kofi Kingston vs. The Dudley Boys: Bubba Ray and Devon Dudley: There was plenty of action here, but the match will go down as one defined by Thew New Day’s antics. The New Day got the win after Langston took out Bully Ray with the trombone and eliminated Devon, which allowed Kingston to win with the Trouble in Paradise.
Divas Champion Charlotte Flair vs. Nikki Bella: Bella hit Flair with everything that she had, both in the ring and out of it, but Flair fought back with her reverse Frankensteiner and more. Like a cyborg, Flair fought back after a Spinebuster on the ring apron and winning with the Figure-Eight.
WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins vs. Kane: For those expecting a stinker, you weren’t terribly disappointed. The demon hit Rollins with nearly everything he had, but Rollins hit a Powerbomb on the outside and finished him off with a Pedigree to retain his title.
Ryback vs. Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens: Another stinker that saw Owens win with an ugly-looking Pop-Up Powerbomb.
Brock Lesnar w/Paul Heyman vs. The Undertaker: Both guys got bloodied early on and both hit all of their big moves. No one expected Taker to take as many suplexes as he did and if anything, it was a testament to Lesnar’s dominance. However, after three suplexes and an F-5, Lesnar couldn’t get the win. After he pushed away the doctor, Lesnar hit another F-5, but still couldn’t win. After the steel steps came into play Lesnar continued to dominate, but Taker latched on the Hells Gate. Lesnar eventually powered out of the submission however and continued to beat on Taker. After Lesnar exposed the ring, Taker hit a Chokeslam to even things up. Taker then hit the Piledriver on the exposed ring, but Lesnar shockingly kicked out. After a Low Blow, Lesnar was able to then hit another F-5 for the win.
After the match, the Wyatt Family beat on Taker and took him to the back to end the show.
