High pressure will continue to control the region’s weather through Tuesday afternoon. Bright, sunny days, and a mostly clear and chilly overnight period tonight, are forecast with temperatures generally below normal.
Clouds will increase Tuesday night ahead of a complex, moisture laden storm that will organize from the Mississippi Valley to the Carolina coastline. This storm system will feature remnants from the Pacific Ocean hurricane Patricia, and the Atlantic Ocean Tropical Storm Karen, in addition to plentiful added moisture from both the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean (to a lesser extent).
Periods of moderate to heavy rainfall will evolve across the region Wednesday, and last through Wednesday night. The system looks to lift through quickly, and thus, by Thursday conditions should begin a slow improvement.
Thursday looks to be a brisk and windy day, with scattered showers from time to time as upper level disturbances sweep through the region in the wake of the strong low pressure area that impacts the region on Wednesday.
High pressure will regain control of the weather Friday and last through the coming weekend. Halloween looks to be brisk and chilly with dry conditions and below normal temperatures.
