The 2015 Blue Bay LPGA golf tournament on the LPGA Tour is taking place this week from October 29 to November 1, 2015, at the Jian Lake Blue Bay Golf Club located on Hainan Island in southernmost China. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs for the LPGA players this week at the 2015 Blue Bay LPGA in China.
The Blue Bay LPGA golf tournament made its debut last year in 2014. Pretty Lee-Anne Pace from South Africa was the inaugural winner of the tournament. There are only four more tournaments on the 2015 schedule for the LPGA women golfers. The season will conclude at the 2015 CME Group Tour Championship on November 22, 2015 when one woman golfer will earn a $1 million bonus.
The Blue Bay LPGA is a no cut tournament so all non-amateur women golfers will earn a paycheck this week. The total prize money up for grabs is $2 million the same amount as last year. The winner’s share below is set in stone while the other amounts can vary a little based upon ties and how many women withdraw from the tournament.
- Winner – $300,000
The winner of the 2015 Blue Bay LPGA will earn a nice paycheck of $300,000. That’s the same amount of prize money earned by Lee-Anne Pace when she won the tournament last year. The Blue Bay LPGA win was the first and to date only LPGA win for Lee-Anne Pace. Lee-Anne has nine more wins on the Ladies European Tour.
- Second place – $183,814
Second place at the 2015 Blue Bay LPGA is worth $183,814. That is the same amount of prize money earned by Caroline Masson when she finished second here last year. Caroline Masson is an attractive 26 year old German golfer who has one Ladies European Tour win and has earned $1.1 million on the LPGA Tour.
- Third place – $133,000
Third place is worth $133,000 at the 2015 Blue Bay LPGA. Michelle Wie and Jessica Korda split $236,496 with each player earning $118,248 when they tied for second place here last year. Jessica Korda just won the 2015 Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia three weeks ago for her fourth career LPGA win.
- Fourth place – $103,000
Fourth place at the 2015 Blue Bay LPGA is worth $103,000. Michelle Wie, who tied for second place here last year, has yet to win on tour in 2015. Michelle has been battling injuries most of the year but she seems healthy now and may yet win a tournament before the season is out.
- Fifth place – $83,000
Fifth place is worth $83,000 at the 2015 Blue Bay LPGA. Chella Choi and Danielle Kang split $150,956 in prize money with each player earning $75,478 when they tied for fifth place here last year. Chella Choi won on tour for the first time in July at the 2015 Marathon Classic. That win was worth $225,000 for Chella who has earned $3.6 million on the LPGA Tour.
- Sixth place – $68,000
Sixth place at the 2015 Blue Bay LPGA is worth $68,000. Danielle Kang, who tied for fifth place here last year, is a 23 year old who played golf at Pepperdine and is still looking for her first LPGA win. Danielle has career earnings of $1.03 million.
