Rosés are often thought of as being a summer time wine only, but rosés pair nicely with a large array of foods, and holiday fare is especially nice with some pink. Be sure to try this one from Lachini Vineyards. And what’s nice, is that Lachini Vineyards is one of the few wineries from Oregon to have a tasting room in the Seattle area!
The Nose: Lovely aromas of strawberry and raspberry, with citrus notes and a touch of mint.
The Palate: Similar to the nose, with raspberry and strawberry lemonade flavors. It’s refreshing and juicy, with plenty of acidity, some spice notes, and great minerality
The Pairing: Try this wine with light salads, light pasta and rice dishes, especially with seafood, raw and lightly cooked shellfish, grilled fish and goat cheeses. And of course, it would be perfect for warm weather drinking.
Lachini Vineyards has 45-acres of distinctive terroir and produce world class Pinot Noirs of prodigious quality. Their emphasis is on the meticulous management of each vine through biodynamic farming, while combining state of the art winemaking. In addition, Lachini Vineyards is L.I.V.E. certified (Low Impact Viticulture & Enology).
Their vineyards are located on the backdrop of the Chehalem Mountain in North Willamette Valley. They’re situated from 250-450 feet with south & southwest exposures. The intense purity of fruit, the unique micro-climates and geological formation that represents Oregon, was the driving factor for settling upon the North Willamette Valley.
