Unless you live in a cave, you know the Pope is in town. Yes, Pope Francis is mesmerizing Catholics and non-Catholics alike. He finished his first day in Philadelphia on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway among an adoring crowd. According to the Daily Pennsylvanian on Saturday, Francis spoke about immigration and religious tolerance at Independence Hall. “You should never be ashamed of your traditions,” Francis said to the heavily Latin-American crowd, drawing enthusiastic applause.
Mark Wahlberg, who emceed the evening festival, introduced a string of A-list stars which included comedian Jim Gaffigan, Italian classical singer Andrea Bocelli, R&B legend Aretha Franklin and Colombian recording star Juanes. Interestingly, it is said Francis watched the performances from a throne atop the Parkway stage. Add being draped in robed finery to that picture and it becomes difficult to reconcile the pomp and circumstance with the term “humble” which Francis is often called.
Breitbart reports that when Francis spoke before a Joint Session of Congress he lectured Americans on illegal immigration, redistribution of income, the death penalty, and climate change but touched only lightly on abortion and same-sex marriage. It is the height of arrogance to come and lecture the American people on anything, espeially when there is so much in the Vatican that is in disorder.
Francis stated that Congressional authority sprang from the need to pursue the “common good,” adding, “legislative activity is always based on care for the people. To this you have been invited, called and convened by those who elected you.” This statement is plainly untrue in Constitutional terms. Legislative authority does not spring from care for the people, but from the consent of the people and non-violation of their rights. The American people are not children to be led by the hand or cared for, but to be protected from encroachment upon their God-given freedoms.
He gave a veiled call for socialistic government economic intervention by saying “If politics must truly be at the service of the human person, it follows that it cannot be a slave to the economy and finance. Politics is, instead, an expression of our compelling need to live as one, in order to build as one the greatest common good: that of a community which sacrifices particular interests in order to share, in justice and peace, its goods, its interests, its social life. I do not underestimate the difficulty that this involves, but I encourage you in this effort.” As Breitbart states, if politics serves individuals, it serves individual freedom. Redefining the “service of the human person” as the “compelling need to live as one” is both a linguistic and moral perversion.
Francis made a special appeal to Americans to welcome immigrants, using his address to a joint meeting of Congress Thursday to invoke the Golden Rule in demanding generosity toward the millions of Central and South Americans seeking to come to the country. All well and good except it’s hypocritical. The Vatican, which as a government has possibly the most restrictive immigration and citizenship policies of any nation in the world, reports Western Journalism.
While the Vatican welcomes millions of visitors every year, only a very select few people are admitted as residents or citizens. About 450 of the Vatican’s 800 residents are actually citizens. They consist mainly of cardinals of the church, the Vatican’s diplomats around the world, or those who live there because of their jobs, like the Swiss guards.
It was at evening prayer delivered at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Manhattan that Francis made the controversial statement “The cross shows us a different way of measuring success. Ours is to plant the seeds. God sees to the fruits of our labors. And if at times our efforts and works seem to fail and not produce fruit, we need to remember that we are followers of Jesus Christ and his life, humanly speaking, ended in failure, the failure of the cross.” This from the man who refers to himself as the vicar of Christ on earth.
Pope Benedict spoke honestly about Islam. Francis, however, is a strong advocate for Islam and seems to have a different agenda. On Friday Pamela Gellar revealed that Benedict was being undermined by a shadowy cabal that wanted to install Cardinal Bergoglio — the present Pope Francis. The goal was to have Francis “modernize” (fundamentally change) the Catholic Church. According to Gellar, one thing Francis has certainly succeeded in doing is ending all resistance to the global jihad that has victimized hundreds of thousands of Christians. The Church leadership is betraying its own people.
A few months ago Pope Francis was quoted telling Vatican’s guests that “the Koran, and the spiritual teachings contained therein, are just as valid as the Holy Bible.” He went on to state “We can accomplish miraculous things in the world by merging our faiths, and the time for such a movement is now. No longer shall we slaughter our neighbors over differences in reference to their God.” This is New World Order talk.
Everything this Pope says seems to have been written by Obama’s speech writers. As more information comes out, it raises questions of just who is Francis? He leads over 1 billion people. But what is he really about? Who’s agenda is he following-God’s or a covert religious cabal. If Obama welcomes his visit, some serious questions need to be asked. Remember how he reacted when Netanyahu came to address Congress.
