Generous and compassionate friends made it possible for Nick Gordon to visit Bobbi Kristina’s grave to say his final goodbye. The identity of the friend or friends who were responsible for flying Nick to the Fairview Cemetery in New Jersey has not yet been revealed. But their act of kindness, first reported by People magazine on Aug. 24, enabled Nick to pay his last respects at the grave site of Bobbi Kristina Brown — something her own father, Bobbi Brown has not yet done. Although Bobby attended his daughter’s funeral in Georgia, he reportedly did not attend the burial service in New Jersey where Bobbi Kristina was finally laid to rest.
According to International Business Times on Aug. 24, Nick’s trip, which took place last week was paid for “by some generous friends.” But none of the reports of Nick’s graveside visit revealed the actual name or names of these friends. However, many speculate that family friend Tyler Perry may have arranged for Nick to be flown there on his private plane. It’s highly possible since Tyler, a longtime friend of the Houstons and Browns, generously made his private jet available to Bobbi Kristina’s family throughout her hospitalization and hospice care.
Nick’s visit to Bobbi Kristina’s grave site is significant because the Houston and Brown families banned him from attending Bobbi Kristina’s funeral and the burial. They suspect him of being responsible for her death. Nick was also barred from visiting Bobbi Kristina during her 6-month hospitalization even though the two had been inseparable for years until her tragic bathtub incident. BET News reported on Aug 25 that Michelle Gordon, Nick’s mother, issued the statement below on her son’s behalf:
Nick loved and cared for Krissi deeply, and he has suffered greatly each and every day they’ve been apart.
Nick pleaded with both families to allow him to attend the funeral and burial so he could pay his last respects, but his entreaties fell on death ears and hardened hearts. So Nick honored Bobbi Kristina on the day of her funeral by spending time at the beach reflecting on their relationship because he said it was their favorite place to go. According to The Grio on Aug. 25, Nick and his mother held a solitary service in memory of Bobbi Kristina because the beach was a place the couple loved.
Like Nick’s private beach memorial, his visit to Bobbi Kristina’s grave site was a quiet, low-key event which went unnoticed until yesterday. And while we still don’t know the identities of Nick’s benefactors, their kindness and generosity enabled the grieving young man to bid Bobbi Kristina a final farewell away from the prying eyes of the press.
