The Fiddlehead Theatre kicks off their fall season with the riveting, classic musical, ‘West Side Story’ from Friday, October 16 through Sunday, October 25! Based on Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ with music and lyrics by legendary composers Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim, the Tony award-winning ‘West Side Story’ catapulted into the Broadway stratosphere, boasting memorable hits such as ‘Somewhere,’ ‘America,’ ‘Tonight,’ and ‘A Boy Like That.’
Be part of Ariel’s world with Disney’s ‘The Little Mermaid’ musical from Friday, November 27 through Sunday, December 6! Based on the Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale of the same name, ‘The Little Mermaid’ follows the adventures of Ariel, the mermaid daughter of the mighty king of the sea, King Triton. Accompanied by a crab named Sebastian and a cute little fish named Flounder, Ariel gets a glimpse of a world above the sea and longs to take on that great adventure with unforeseen consequences. ‘The Little Mermaid’ is a heartwarming story for the entire family.
Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, the vivid and striking musical, ‘Rent’ is roughly based on Puccini’s ‘La Boheme.’ Set in New York City, ‘Rent’ follows the triumphs and struggles of a group of diverse young artists. This Tony award-winning production for Best Musical contains Broadway hits such as ‘Seasons of Love,’ ‘Light My Candle,’ and ‘I’ll Cover You.’ See it from Friday, February 5 through Sunday, February 21! This musical has mature themes and may not be appropriate for young children.
The Fiddlehead Theatre proudly tops off their season with a monumental musical approaching its 90th birthday! The widely adapted musical about a Mississippi showboat in 1887, ‘Showboat’ garnered two Oscar nominations for its film version and launched timeless songs such as ‘Ol’ Man River,’ ‘Make Believe,’ and ‘Can’t Help Lovin’ Dat Man.’ Performances for ‘Showboat take place from Friday, April 22 through Sunday, May 1.
