Citrine Health was stumped at how could this non-profit agency in Everett and increase their income while avoiding traditional fundraising activities like auctions, spaghetti dinners and candy sales. Citrine Health looked at what was missing in Everett an active Blues Venue and envisioned that becoming a reality in their 2300 sq. ft. Event Room. They imagined blues bands playing in this intimate setting while music lovers filled the dance floor. Thus the event was born and is called: Citrine Blues presents Washington’s Women of Blues.A breast cancer fundraising event to be held on Saturday October 10th at Citrine Health in Everett. There will be dancing, BBQ, beer, wine & some great blues music to chase the blues away.
The evening will feature music performed by an all-female cast of blues musicians: Missy Califano, Lady A, Mia Vermillion, Kate Holte, & Debbie Johnson will perform as well as Teri Wilson, vocals & guitar, Melanie Owen, vocals & bass, Faith Stankovich, on drums & Karin Katija, on keys.
Emcee for the evening will be Mike Brown from Charity Auction World and there will be some amazing items auctioned off including a Buddy Guy guitar, a Russell Wilson autographed football, a Marshawn Lynch Seahawk jersey, a framed photo of Seahawk Richard Sherman “The Tip” vs. SF 49ers, & a photo of former Husky & Seahawk Warren Moon.
Citrine Health is a 501(c)3, non-profit agency that serves to connect families to health care, social services and disease prevention programs. They have many programs that help do that, including the WA Breast, Cervical and Colon Health Program that provides cancer screenings for the uninsured, the Basic Food Program, connecting families to food assistance, & the Women’s Wellness Center, with a gym, yoga and other classes, as well as massage and other healing services. Scholarships are available at the Wellness Center so that all women can participate.
Citrine’s current focus is on their newest project; The Bra Shop: Supportive Solutions for Every Body, the only place in Snohomish County that can fit and provide breast prostheses and post-mastectomy bras for women who have had a mastectomy from breast cancer. Gently used bras & prosthetics are also available at no cost or for a small donation to women in need. Citrine Health is also contracted with Medicare/Medicaid for new products. Certified fitters are also available to provide women with the right bra for their body, even in those hard-to-find sizes.
Citrine Health is hoping to make Citrine Blues a quarterly fundraiser to help support The Bra Shop as well as their other programs and bring a regular blues music event to the Everett area.
