Volcom Stone has announced the premiere of its latest surf film, “Psychic Migrations.” The film premiere takes place on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the historic Sun-Ray Theater, which is located along the St. John’s River and within close proximity to Jacksonville Beach.
“Psychic Migration” interweaves the physical aspect of riding the perfect wave with the psychological side and combines it with spectacular scenery. Surf filmmaker Ryan Thomas spent more than a year and a half shooting on location in such spots as the West and East Indies, Polynesia, Australia and the Americas.
The film stars an international cast of well-known surf professionals that includes, among many others, 11-time world champion surfer Kelly Slater, Andrew Doheny, Mike Gleason, Joan Duru, Ozzie Wright, Dusty Payne, Carlos Munoz and Alex Gray.
Presented by Volcom Stone, “Psychic Migration” is a Veeco Production directed by Ryan Thomas. It follows the 2014 film “True to This,” an epic surf, skate and snow film. Along with its board sport apparel, gear and footwear line, Volcom has produced 30 influential films over the past 20 years. “Psychic Migrations” DVD and iTunes will release on November 3, 2015. A 24-hour online premiere is scheduled for December 2, 2015.
The Sun-Ray Theatre is located at 1028 Park Street, Jacksonville, Florida. The film premiere is free and open to the public. “Psychic Migrations” premieres are also scheduled for Hawaii, Portugal, Australia, Chili and Cape Town, South Africa.
