The Veterans Day freebies started a few decades ago with just a few places participating back then. Today veterans and people still active in the military can have breakfast, lunch, dinner, various snacks and even a free beer during the day because of all the businesses that have joined in on this tradition around the nation.
Along with plenty of free food, veterans and those still active in the military can get a free haircut, car wash, oil change and you can even get a moving truck for one hour free. Bed and Breakfast businesses nationwide have banded together offering a free room to veterans, the offer is listed below. The offers are vast and the military and veterans are well-deserving of these thank yous offered today.
According to NBC News on November 10, these specials are open to veterans and active duty military. These offers are available at participating restaurants and businesses nation wide. To take advantage of these great offers you need to show your military ID when ordering at these various restaurants and businesses.
It is recommended that you call ahead of your visit to make sure that the location you are planning to visit is a participating restaurant or business, suggests Fox News. So make a day of it and enjoy all the free offerings from the various restaurants and businesses listed below:
Applebee’s: Offers a free entree from a fixed menu on Veterans Day.
Bob Evans: Is offering a free all-you-can-eat hot cakes meal to veterans.
Chili’s: Offers a free entree from a set menu.
Outback Steakhouse: Offers a free Bloomin’ Onion appetizer and drink at participating Outback Steakhouse locations.
Olive Garden: Offers a free meal from a special menu; family members eating with them get 10 percent off their meals.
Friendly’s: Is offering free breakfast, lunch and dinner for all vets. Dine-in only.
T.G.I. Friday’s: Has a free lunch from a special menu for the veterans today and it is offered from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Denny’s: Is offering a “build your own Grand Slam” breakfast from 5 a.m. until noon.
California Pizza Kitchen: Veterans can order a entree from a special menu of pizza, pasta and salad.
Little Caesars: Offers a free $5 pizza-and-beverage lunch combo from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Starbucks: Offers a free tall (12-ounce) coffee to veterans and their spouses.

Great Clips salon chain: Offers free haircuts. If you don’t need a haircut today, don’t worry as they also offer a voucher for a free cut to use any time before the end of the year.
