Earlier this month we shared information about the many fun horse events taken place across the Wasatch front during the month of July.
Rodeos are always popular in Utah; no wonder considering the vast numbers of brave and skilled western riders we have throughout the state! Every year many of the top NFR (National Finals Rodeo) contestants hale from Utah. Take a look at the All Horse Utah website for information about local shows, rodeos and assorted equine events!
If you’ve missed all the action up at The Pioneer Days Rodeo, you can still head north and check out the fun during its final two days. The rodeo is currently in full swing up at the Golden Spike event center in Utah. It runs through tomorrow, Friday, July 24th. Visit either the Pioneer Days Rodeo website or the site for the Golden Spike Event Center for information on the schedule, news, entry fee, directions and more.
Down at the Enterprise arena their rodeo will start today, July 23, and runs through Saturday night, July 25. It starts at 8:00 pm each evening; tickets are $6 for adults, $3 for kids ages 3 -11, and toddlers 2 and under get in free! Go the the Enterprise Rodeo site for details and information.
With many top-ranked ropers throughout our state, the Rope the Summit Series is always popular. Tomorrow, Friday, July 24, the event will be held out east in the Oakley Arena.
Enjoy more roping fun and excitement on Friday July 24 – Saturday July 25 at the Legacy Event Center in Farmington. The Pioneer Days Saddle Blowout Roping will dominate the facility for both days. Visit the event’s website for times, details, entry fees and directions.
For those who don’t mind a road trip out to Castle Dale, UT, the Carbon Barrel Race is scheduled to take place on July 28 (next Tuesday) at the Blue Sage arena.
Head north to Ogden’s Golden Spike event center on Wednesday, July 29, for the RMBRA barrel race. Check out their fun Facebook page to keep up on the action.
Enjoy some big fun cheering on our little local athletes at the Utah Junior Rodeo Series event July 31 – August 1 at the Butterfield Park and Arena in Herriman. These brave and talented young cowboys and cowgirls are always so much fun to watch! Get your cheering voice ready!
For those who prefer the English equestrian events, remember that the UHJA show will take place at the Salt Lake Equestrian Park in South Jordan from Tuesday, July 28 through the following Sunday, August 2, 2015. This USEF-recognized show will attract top riders from throughout the region. Connect with the UHJA website calendar to learn more, or contact organizer Holly Dwyer at 801.664.2500. There is no charge to spectators for this event.
In addition to the Zephyr Ranch 2-phase (dressage and jumping) competition in Salem, UT, this weekend, there is also a schooling show taking place in Springville. Check out either the Zephyr or Wasatch Range Eventing websites to learn more about their event, whether you wish to ride or watch.
