This Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mix is a dog in desperate need of medical care. He has a huge tumor on his eye, so rescues are reluctant to pull him because they are worried about the huge cost of the surgery and specialized care he will need. He will be available for rescue on Monday, and his story needs to be shared so that a plan to rescue him can be in place.
It does not seem as if a family that let him get into this horrible shape will come to reclaim him. The tumor should have been dealt with months ago. Also, few adopters have the necessary resources to adopt a dog that might need thousands of dollars in veterinary care immediately. He needs to find a rescue, and he needs to find it soon.
He’s only around five years old, so once his medical issues have been dealt with, he might have many years of life to share with some lucky family. He is at the Riverside County Animal Control in Jurupa Valley, California. The shelter does kill for space, so once his hold is up, if there is no rescue pending, he might be killed because of his physical condition. So it’s urgent that his story be shared.
There is another picture on his Pet Harbor page which does not show his tumor. It’s kind of misleading because it just shows a cute Cavalier dog. He is ID #A1216945, and more information is on his Facebook thread.
