UPDATE: Louie Lee has been rescued. Donations have been received to cover this little guy’s vetting, and four foster homes have stepped forward willing to help. Please note that Angels Among Us Rescue appreciates all of the emails received concerning reuniting Louie Lee’s owner or petitioning to allow dogs at nursing homes, however rescue organizations are not given personal information about owners of surrendered dogs because of privacy issues. If information becomes available, Angels Among Us promises to share with everyone. Please take comfort that Louie Lee will be receiving lots of love and excellent care; many thanks to this fine organization.
An elderly United States war veteran cried as he had to leave his sweet five-year-old Yorkshire terrier at the shelter this week through no fault of his own. One of our freedom heroes was headed to a nursing home; not only was he losing his own independence, but his devoted dog and best friend was not allowed to accompany him.
And for a little Yorkie named Louie Lee, followed a short lifetime of utter confusion. Everyday, he and his best human friend spent their time together; today Louis Lee would lie in a lonely kennel in a shelter wondering why he had been separated from his best human – and would wait watching through the kennel bars for the man’s return. Tragically, that would never happen, but how does anyone explain that to a dog?
Angels Among Us Pet Rescue wants to intervene, and help Louie Lee. Funding is needed for Louie Lee’s complete veterinarian examination, vaccinations and his microchip. He will need a local to the Atlanta, Georgia area foster home situation for him, where he can relax and be evaluated for the best home suitable for his needs. “He is small and he is very sweet! He has only known love! And we owe it to this veteran to make sure he continues to only know love! No one has done anything wrong here! This was just life throwing a curveball. Let’s please reward Louie Lee’s daddy for doing everything right! He deserves to know his beloved pup is safe! PLEASE HELP! This is a good dog and this is a good man! Please let us also help and recognize the people who do things right.” For anyone who would like to help Louie Lee and then indirectly helping our United States veteran, please click here.
