Happy happy update! A dog lover saw this article on Titan (on Facebook) and went and adopted him! Pictures of a happy, free and safe Titan can bee seen on his page. Hurry, the Facebook page is sometimes taken down once the dogs are safe! Thank you all for sharing.
Is Titan so terribly frightened in the shelter because he grew up in a home and can’t understand why he was abandoned by the family he loved? He is confused and very, very scared. But in spite of his fear, his sweet personality shines through.
Titan is still lots of puppy — probably boxer — and he doesn’t have long to live. While he is very sweet, he is also very scared. That hasn’t helped him find anyone to take him home. And now he’s on the list to be killed tomorrow as soon as his kennel is needed for a new dog.
Titan is very scared at the shelter. He is calm and gentle and seems to be housebroken. He’s a little guy and under 50 pounds. It must be a shock for him to be in a kennel in the noisy chaotic shelter environment. He gets along with other dogs but was nervous outside in the playgroup and licked his lips a lot. He is heartworm negative, so he is ready for adoption.
Someone who visited with Titan noted:
I’ve visited with Titan a few times as he appeared to be quite scared and timid. He did shy away the first when I went into his kennel, but eventually became comfortable enough to come close to take a treat from my hand. That was an improvement as during the first visit, he wouldn’t get close enough to take the treat. The subsequent visits earned me being able to pet him while he stood right next to me. He’s a great boy that just needs a safe place to call home with a family that will give him the proper time to adjust.”
But Titan doesn’t have any longer to find rescue or adoption. He is on the list and can be killed tomorrow. If you can take Titan, please email email@example.com by 9:00 am tomorrow morning and copy firstname.lastname@example.org on the email. The subject line needs to be: Do Not Euth. Include the dog’s ID# A29986093, his name (Titan) and your contact information in the body of the email. Please do not send the email if you cannot pick him up tomorrow.
