Grand Rapids, Mich- A Pharaoh once purged from the history of Egypt is now being celebrated in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The current exhibit at the Grand Rapids Public museum recreates what Archaeologist Howard Carter found in 1922. Visitors are taken on a journey into the past with Howard Carter and watch as He finds the tomb of the forgotten Pharaoh King Tutankhamun. One of the only tombs in the Valley of the kings that had never been fully raided by tomb robbers. King Tutankhamun had been almost completely erased from history by his successors.
Visitors can see up close the beautifully recreated artifacts and imagine what it would have been like to first peer in the dark tombs. The golden sarcophagus etched with hieroglyphs and walls painted with scenes of the burial procession and Gods and Goddesses.
The exhibit is a must see for anyone with a love for Egyptology and History. The Exhibit is now open and ready for visitors to explore.
