After ten weeks of grueling and entertaining completion, Sara Lee was crowned as the winners of this season of “Tough Enough.”
With 64 percent of the vote, Sara Lee won the Divas competition while Josh took home the Superstar prize with 70 percent of the vote.
There was actual very little to the show this week, as the majority of the episode was featuring the finalists in the ring. Regardless, the moments were special ones.
Watching Josh, Zeke, Amanda and Sara talk about their characters and work with WWE Creative was cool. It was a rare behind the scenes look t how a WWE Superstar or Diva is created. Having Antonio Cesaro and Alicia Fox along for the last episode was a good final touch, too. It would have been a mess to have the finalists compete against each other, especially considering how rudimentary their first “matches” were last week.
Alicia Fox vs. Amanda aka Mandy Rose: Prior to the match, Mandy cut some weak promo, but you’d be think she wasn’t hot in her ring gear. The match was a physical one as Fox hit the Sideslam and tons of stiff strikes. Amanda did a good job of selling, but Amanda hit a surprising Head Scissor and Sunset Flip before Fox nailed her with a Clothesline. Amanda then got the near-fall with the second rope Springboard Bulldog, but Fox finished her off with the Axe Kick.
Analysis: For a five-minute match, Amanda sold well and looked natural hitting a few bigger moves than you’d expect. Regardless, it was obvious Amanda was a newbie as her falls, coming most of the time from the side, need work. She needs to take more flat back bumps. The match was much more physical than you would have expected however and although she was out of her element, the match had an intensity to it. She’s still obviously very green, but there’s potential there.
Alicia Fox vs. Sara Lee aka Hope: Sara’s entrance was bland, she just dropped her cowboy hat. Her promo washouts as weak as she rattled off cliches and did nothing to make herself stand out. Once in the ring, it was obvious Sara was not ready as she did more selling than actual maneuvers. Away from a Russian Leg Sweep and her Arm Bar, Sara did little else as Fox won with an Axe Kick.
Analysis: Lee is just not in the same league as Amanda, but she was able to sell. She made the crowd care a little bit more about her, but in terms of looking polished, she’s just not.
ZZ aka King of the Bayou vs. Cesaro: What a joke. The alligator head ring gear was a disaster. His promo was rambling and lacked intensity. The days of his cuteness are over. It was just flat. Once in the ring, Cesaro gassed ZZ after a few bumps and a Swing. The fans seemed to care, but away from his trademark Pancake and Gator grip, he brought nothing. Cesaro promptly countered the submission into the Crossface for the win.
Analysis: ZZ doesn’t have the cardio to be a success. The Miz was spot on in his analysis. And while he’s got some charisma, he didn’t have it in his entrance or in his taunts before his finisher. it’s sad that he made it this far.
Josh aka The Yeti vs. Cesaro: Of all the competitors, Josh had the best promo, the best in-ring gear and took the most punishment in the ring. From the Double Stomp to the Swing, Josh fit in and matched up with Cesaro so much better than ZZ. Although his Running Powerslam was a weak one, it was the biggest offensive showing from all of the computers. Cesar got the win with the Neutralizer.
Analysis: It was sloppy, but Josh has the potential. He’s got the charisma. He’s got the cardio and the size. He deserved to win. The fact that Cesaro did more with Josh was telling as well.
