Consignment and resale shopping is so eco-chic. It’s a sustainable way of living, a good opportunity to save more than a few bucks and an excellent chance to score a fashion find that’ll blow your mind. Here are five shops to keep you on the hunt. Grab a girlfriend, a cup of coffee and go consignment shopping. It’s what the really cool kids are doing over the weekend.
Birds & Belles Boutique is located at 1113 South Pearl St. in Denver, CO. This boutique buys, sells and trades high-quality name brand and hip vintage apparel at competitive prices. Birds & Bells also carries accessories by local designers. Inventory is kept current and in season. .
Buffalo Exchange has two locations in Denver, CO (226 E 13th Ave and 51 Broadway St.). There are over 40 locations in 17 states; but Buffalo Exchange buys and sells locally to reflect the trends and style of the region, so you can’t help but find something you like every time you visit. The mission of this “fashionable clothing exchange” is to lead the resale fashion industry by giving back to the community and modeling sustainability. For example, you should bring your own shopping bag or be prepared to hand-carry your items out the door. For each bag NOT given to a customer, Buffalo Exchange donates five cents to charity.
Plum Consignment is located at 2373 Central Park Blvd, Unit 106, in the Stapleton neighbor of Denver, CO. This shop is eco-friendly to the decor, with re-purposed fixtures and furniture for the displays. Freshly picked clothing and accessories can be shopped from the store’s racks or online from their New Arrivals page. Brands currently include BCBG, Calvin Klein, Elizabeth & James, Michael Kors, Rebecca Minkoff, Sam Eldeman, Tory Burch and more.
Rags Consignments has three locations; one in Boulder, the Highlands and Cherry Creek. You won’t find rags here. Rags Consignments has designer brands at prices you just won’t believe. During our recent visit to the shop, a lot of the items in the LoHi store were priced at or about $15 with a new Calvin Klein dress selling for only $20. Meanwhile at the Boulder location, there were several pairs of reasonably tagged designer shoes, as well as a never-been-worn pair of Jimmy Choo heels with the box and duster for just $119.
Your Best Friend’s Closet is located at 2910 E 6th Ave, Denver, CO. Expect to find something unique at this Top of the Town, A-List award winning shop. We’ve all envied our best friend’s closet at one time or another and borrowed her shoes, but had to give them back. The best thing about shopping at YBFC is the closet is a lot bigger and, if you love something, buy it – Then, it’s yours to take home and treasure forever. Shop for designer brands like Chanel, Prada, Gucci and Louis Vuitton.
