The Oakland Raiders broke a three-game losing streak this Sunday when they defeated the Tennessee Titans 24-21. Many mistakes were made by the Raiders but three factors stood out that helped get the victory.
One factor that stood in the victory of the Raiders over the Titans was Derek Carr. The quarterback got 330 yards in passing with three touchdowns. On the downside, he was sacked once and fumbled twice, losing one. However, he maintained his cool and got a last minute drive that was helped by a defensive foul by the Titans to win the game.
The other factor in the win of the Oakland Raiders over Tennessee was wide receiver Seth Roberts who had two touchdowns. Roberts in total caught for 113 yards which was two yards less than rookie Amari Cooper. At the end of the day, Roberts was more of a key player than Cooper because of the two touchdowns.
The third factor in the win on Sunday for the Raiders was safety Nate Allen. The safety has just made his return a week before and did not show much during the game against the Tennessee Titans. However, Allen got an interception in the last minute of the game to kill the Titan’s drive to win or at least tie the game. Allen was a last minute hero at the end of the game on Sunday.
There were mistakes made by the Raiders on Sunday as well, like having too many turnovers with fumbles. Two of the three fumbles were lost, and the Titans went on to score on those. Those turnovers nearly cost the Raiders the game.
In the second score from a Raiders fumble, the Titans took the lead which forced the Raiders to make a heroic last drive in the fourth quarter. Again, the last heroic drive was aided by a defensive foul by the Titans which gave the Raiders an automatic first down right when things looked like it was over for the Silver and Black.
In the end, three positive factors turned out to be the game winners for the Raiders. Next week, they face AFC West rivals the Kansas City Chiefs and the Oakland Raiders will look to keep the playoffs alive with a win.
