We may be in the final stretch of the summer movie season, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t still plenty of fun films to look forward to. “Vacation”, a reboot of the classic comedy franchise that starred Chevy Chase, hit theaters earlier this week, while action fans have the latest “Mission: Impossible” movie to look forward to this Friday. “Vacation”: This comedy directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein is a reboot of the classic “Vacation” series starring Chevy Chase as Clark Griswold. This movie follows Clark’s son Rusty (Ed Helms), now an adult with a family of his own. Wanting to shake things up a bit, Rusty decides to recreate his childhood cross-country trip to Wally World with his wife (Christina Applegate) and two sons (Skyler Gisondo and Steele Stebbins). Of course, nothing goes as planned. Runtime: 99 minutes. Rated R for crude and sexual content and language throughout, and brief graphic nudity.
“Mission: Impossible- Rogue Nation”: Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, this fifth film in the “Mission: Impossible” franchise sees agent Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his team going up against the Syndicate, a mysterious organization that has all the skills the IMF does, but is dedicated to destroying them. Costarring Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, and Rebecca Ferguson. Available for viewing in 3D. Runtime: 131 minutes. Rated PG-13 for sequences of action and violence, and brief partial nudity.
