There’s some good news if you’re a Doors fan and live in the Los Angeles area. There are still tickets available for the debut screening of John Densmore’s feature film “Window of Opportunity” this coming Wednesday (tomorrow!) October 28. Densmore will be introducing the film prior to the screening, and if you need an added inducement to attend the event, the proceeds from the screening will be donated to the Bernie Sanders Presidential campaign.
“Window of Opportunity” follows corporate executive, Roger Sizemore played by Oliver Muirhead, who takes a couple of his junior executives up to a hunting cabin for a weekend of drinking. Sizemore also invites a couple of hookers up to the cabin for the weekend and over the course of the weekend one of the hookers ends up dead. Sizemore then enlists his underlings in the cover up of the murder. Densmore describes the movie as “It’s dark, suspenseful, and comic, and addresses a theme that I’ve been worried about for awhile: corporate greed.”
Densmore who has long advocated for the lessening of corporate greed in society, he supported the Occupy Los Angeles movement, and published “The Doors Unhinged” about the lawsuit against bandmates Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger over the use of The Doors name and for use in commercials. When Densmore was arranging the screening, and considering the subject matter of the film he decided the best way to put the proceeds of the screening to good use would be to donate them to Bernie Sanders Presidential campaign. Sanders has been running a progressive campaign advocating getting big money out of politics, closing the gap between the wealthy and the poor through improved wages, making college tuition’s free, racial justice, as well as equal rights for women and the LGBT community.
“Window of Opportunity” will be shown at the Egyptian Theater, Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, CA, 90028. The event starts at 7:30 pm (pacific time) tickets are only $15 and are available at Bernie 2016.
If you really need an added inducement, Tony Funches will be attending the screening. Funches was the one time bodyguard of Jim Morrison. So, you may be able to see Tony hanging out and have the opportunity to say ‘hi’ to him.
