It’s time for Halloween this weekend and that means some parties and special events, but even before that there are two very special shows going on in Atlanta this week. Two of the most legendary ladies in blues are appearing on consecutive days. Rory Block will be at the Red Light Cafe on Wednesday in support of her great CD, Hard Luck Child: A Tribute to Skip James. Then Maria Muldaur, known not only for blues but for jazz, gospel and pop, will be at Blind Willie’s. Some people are going to be sleepy but happy at work Thursday and Friday!
As for rattling your bones on Halloween, there are parties at Darwin’s, Nik’s Place and Northside Tavern. It’s a good way to start out the fall and winter holiday season, which will be chock full of blues as always!
