There’s a feeling I get when I look to the west and that feeling was amazing. The fans of Led Zeppelin were treated to a night of great rock and the lyrics of Led Zeppelin as they were sung by the band Get The Led Out Thursday night, September 24th at one of the greatest amphitheater’s in the world known as Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
Get The Led Out is The American Led Zeppelin and they are having fun doing it. No they are not out to rewrite the music or take the place of the real Led Zeppelin but when you close your eyes, you would swear it was the real Led Zeppelin. And why not. Get The Led Out has is a tribute band that captures the essence of the music, the sound and the moves of Robert Plant. Lead vocalist Paul Sinclair had a dream of being on stage and did his time playing his music in local bars and countless venues along the east coast. At the age of 12, Paul was singing to rock and his voice began to crack and have different sounds. This is the age that Paul Sinclair decided he wanted to be on stage singing his heart out to sold-out audiences.
Paul Sinclair teamed with his long-time friend Paul Hammond who can make a guitar weep, melt, be classic and above all rock. But Paul Hammond can do this and so much more with the guitar. Not only does Paul Hammond play the guitar but he provides vocals at times for Get The Led Out. Paul’s life has been a dream come true. He is a producer, engineer, songwriter and an electronics technician. He has taken the life’s path of musician/technician just like Les Paul, Jimmy Page and Brian May. He got the pleasure of working with such greats as Phil and Joe Nicolo and has sat in on watching these put together tracks of the Rolling Stones and Aerosmith.
Paul Sinclair’s life has been amazing and he is living the dream. Paul Sinclair is an affiliated BMI songwriter. He is also an engineer and producer. In the world of music, Paul at one time was managed by radio promo legend Joe Reagoso. Paul Sinclair has also played many high profile shows and shared the bill with Foghat, Savoy Brown, Kevin Dubrow of Quiet Riot and David Ruffin of The Temptations and many more. Along with studying the artist Robert Plant, Paul has also studied Steven Tyler or Aerosmith.
Take all this talent and add much more and this is the band and music of Get The Led Out. The seats at Red Rocks Amphitheatre were sold out. It was standing room only at the top of the stairs but those folks did not mind as they listened and danced the night away to the music of Led Zeppelin.
Before the show, the atombash.com was there to provide coverage of the concert. John DiTirro walked around the seats and spoke with a few and found out what their favorite Led Zeppelin song is. While the list is very long of who Examiner spoke with, we thought we would share a few of them. The first lady we met was Dena Almroth and her favorite Led Zeppelin song is “The Rain Song”. Next we met up with the Vavra family and they all enjoy Led Zeppelin and have seen Get The Led Out before. This was one show they were not going to miss. Mother Kathy Vavra has her favorite “Stairway To Heaven”, while her daughter Kelsey’s is “Ramble On” and yet daughter Kathy is out there with “Dazed and Confused”. Well Get The Led Out did play “Stairway To Heaven” and “Ramble On”, but none-the-less, the ladies were happy with all the songs that were played. As was the rest of the crowd. The fans heard these songs and more as Get The Led Out started the show with “Rock And Roll” moving into “Trampled Under Foot” and the third song was “When The Levee Breaks”. The light shows along with 6 amazing musicians on stage doing what they love and the passion showed, made for a fantastic ending for the summer concert series for KDBI Public Broadcast Television Channel 12.
Vickie and her husband Mark traveled from Philadelphia (the hometown of Get The Led Out) to not only see the band, but they heard Red Rock Amphitheatre is one of the best venues to see a concert. As they spoke to the atombash.com after the show, Vickie said “This place is epic. This place is gorgeous and people were right. We traveled four days to get here and take in the Colorado sites, and then to end it at Red Rocks, we could not have had a better vacation.
Get The Led Out performed another unbelievable concert for their second time at Red Rocks Amphitheatre to another sold out audience. Their passion to create the music of Led Zeppelin and share it with fans is a remarkable experience. They rocked the Rocks and all who went had very positive thoughts as they were leaving. Get The Led Out did such a phenomenal job that producer Sam Safarian with KBDI has already booked them again for next summer. So until then, to quote Casey Kasem “Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars.” And that is exactly what lead singer and founder of Get The Led Out, Paul Sinclair does every day and he thanks his fans every day for allowing him to share his gift of a very talented band Led Zeppelin and bring their music to fantastic venues such as Red Rock Amphitheatre.
