THE WOODLANDS, Texas – With an explosion of growth in Montgomery County, there has not been a shortage of new restaurant openings, and none have made more of an impression than The Republic Grille. Located in The Woodlands, The Republic Grille has enjoyed an extremely successful first year. The restaurant has won awards and accolades, including being named one of the Top Five New Restaurants in the area by CultureMap and making Zagat’s list of the Top Ten Hottest New Restaurants in Houston. Add to that the Houston Chronicle’s review proclaiming The Republic Grille features the best chicken-fried steak in H-Town and there’s no doubt that it is a favorite among the locals and visitors alike.
To commemorate their first anniversary, the Republic Grille will be offering drink specials and the same delicious flavors that have made them famous. With a beautiful, spacious patio and rustic décor, the restaurant is the perfect setting for a celebrations like Father’s Day, birthdays, anniversaries and other celebratory events.
When the doors first opened on May 12, 2014, Founder and Managing Partner Terry McBurney had high hopes for The Republic Grille. “I wanted to provide a venue where locals could hang their hat,” McBurney said, “something unique that wasn’t a chain.”
With a background in the restaurant sector and real estate, McBurney approached his new business venture in an unusual way. “I discovered the location first and developed the concept around local demographics and what potential patrons wanted as a dining option,” McBurney said.
Nestled beneath the trees in the Panther Creek Shopping Center, The Republic Grille is a neighborhood gem. “We are the only village center in The Woodlands where people from the surrounding area walk, ride their bikes or socialize in groups,” he said. McBurney likens The Republic Grille to a modern day Cheers. “We have many regulars that visit with us every day so literally it’s a place where everybody knows their name.”
Decorated with historic photos and memorabilia from The Woodlands’ forty-year history, The Republic Grille boasts a menu that blends Southern style comfort food and traditional Texas flavors.
“Since we opened, we’ve added several new menu items, but surprisingly we haven’t taken anything off the menu,” McBurney said. “In the restaurant business you expect to have some hits and some misses, but every single menu item has been a success with our patrons.” Favorites include their award-winning chicken fried steak, double-cut pork chops and Texas quail with a bacon barbecue glaze. There are also plenty of dessert options that are sure to satisfy any sweet tooth. Peach cobbler, bread pudding and customer favorite Tres Leches are a great way to end a meal. “We surely don’t skimp on quality and offer great food at a fair price. If you leave The Republic Grille hungry, it’s your own fault.”
The Republic Grille is located at 4775 W. Panther Creek.
