“Nothing good is safe while Snow is alive”. Truer words have never been spoken in the The Hunger Games franchise, and the finale Mockingjay part 2 promises to be the most tragic chapter yet. War has erupted between the rebels led by Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), and while there are sure to be casualties, the first trailer shows there will also be moments to celebrate.
Beginning with the marriage between Finnick (Sam Claflin) and Annie, the footage also shows Katniss and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) appearing to make up after his violent attack against her while brainwashed. We also get a look at Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie as Commander Lyme, a key combatant for the rebellion.
If there seems to be a little less buzz surrounding this film than the others it may have to do with the finale being stretched unnecessarily into two parts, but that won’t stop it from raking in the big bucks just like the rest of the franchise. Directed by Francis Lawrence, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 2 opens November 20th.
