It was a night of the Blood moon, a drip here and a drop or two later. The Newsletter 2005 Promotion’s meritorious 9th semi-annual ReMix Awards Show arrived at the fabulous Signature Room in St. Louis, in grand style.There was casual, formal and hip hop styles in the place to be. The venerable Signature Room was the ideal party scene for a moderate audience waiting to greet the 15+ honorees.
The list might not create goosebumps for you, nor will it make you want to rush out to the records stores. However, these people in the Midwest are making formidable noise of their very own. Hosted and founded by The Newsletter many annuals ago, The ReMix Awards Show started as a marketing economic gem to help small ideas get the exposure needed for growth. Growth successful to get the right people to their demographics, without spending more money than is profits.
The popular Mother’s Fish, which is housed in The Signature Room, was the food of choice, and you could smell fish and piping hot chicken wings all night long. There was also $1 shots of The ReMix Sling, a combination of premium Vodka and cranberry juice with a splash of energy.
Admission this year to the show was a modest $12 at the door, VIP was available for the honorees at a discount rate.The guests also wore bands to reflect cancer awareness; the colors were pink, purple, yellow, orange and blue.
There was also live performances by the Midwest finest talents, including funk, jazz, R&B and soul band Rhythmic Campaign, Dance tour company Stepp-Tacular S.C., LLC of Kansas City, MO, St. Louis songstress Favour Renae, and hip hop by co-host Shawn C, former award recipient/advocate C-Sharp, award honorees Chez Boi, and Rip James.
