The International Music Conference was recently held in Atlanta in its 5th year of success. KAC Images joined into a partnership with The International Music Conference and the City of Atlanta as the official PR company to present one of the most ground-breaking music conferences nationwide. In 2011, the music conference was launched with plenty of goals such as inspiring, educating, and presenting opportunities within every aspect of the music industry.
On September 15, the 5-day music conference was held at Pulse Loft at the Marriot Marquis Hotel. It was opened with a private industry mixer and a full day of panel sessions. Guests were presented with a bonus added to the conference lineup called “An Evening with R&B Greats.” It was hosted by former Destiny’s Child group member Latavia Roberson, music journalist Will Lavin and lead singer of the hit 90’s group 702 Meelah.
Guests were given the opportunity to enjoy engaging discussions about the evolution of R&B and detailed forecasts about its future. The night didn’t end there and later on, guests listened to an intense lineup of beat presentations. They also witnessed a Racine, Wisconsin resident, Archie Utmos, win an all expense paid trip to London, England courtesy of IMC. He won the prize after he impressed guest judges, including artist manager DeShawn Kennedy, A&R of Empire Distribution Serge Durand, CEO of Adella Thomas Management Rico Brooks and five time Grammy Award winning engineer Jeremiah Adkins.
On Friday night, rap artist Layla Khepri won a competition over 7 other music artists who performed to win the grand prize of IMC 2015’s Best New Artists. On day four, there were educational sessions, panel discussions and workshops. Guests were able to gather vital information about the music industry and how to properly invest in music careers, social media, and marketing for optimal success. Upcoming artists were also given the opportunity to get their music heard by experts such as A&R manager of Timeless Music Management Charles Conner, Associate Director of ASCAP Atlanta Joncier Rienecker and artist manager David Melhado.
The conclusion of the conference was held on Saturday with the IMC Farewell “Brunch at Lunch” Awards Ceremony which was catered by Wolfgang Puck and prominent influencers in the music industry were awarded by IMC.
