When The Dorchester, considered one of the best hotels in the world, wants to open a coffee shop, they have only one goal: delivering the perfect cup of coffee. Coffee-loving Londoners will have a new java joint when the iconic hotel opens Parcafé on October 1.
Located next to the hotel’s ballroom, with an entrance on Park Lane in trendy Mayfair, Parcafé will feature brews from artisanal London coffee roaster Alchemy. The company specializes in unique beans they source directly and sustainably from coffee farmers in South America, Central America and Africa. The brews will be prepared on some of the world’s best coffee-making equipment including a La Marzocco FB80.
In addition to coffee, fresh juices will be offered and Parcafé will deliver the perfect cuppa with its selection of teas. Parcafé will serve food, with offerings created by the kitchens of The Dorchester and the pastry kitchen of sister hotel 45 Park Lane. There will be fresh-made salads and sandwiches along with a mouth-watering selection of pastries and cookies, even home-made fudge.
On a practical level, Parcafé brings a much needed space for coffee and snacks on Mayfair’s Park Lane, a street filled with luxury hotels, exclusive residences and exotic car dealerships. Until now, the street was lacking in any food options other than fancy restaurants. The space will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., serving both the morning and afternoon commuters as well as locals, local workers and hotel guests.
As this is The Dorchester, the interior of Parcafé has been carefully designed to connect with the hotel’s overall history and glamour. Even minor details like the food presentation and the design of take-away cups has been crafted to match the level of luxury featured in the rest of the property.
