On today’s episode of the ABC hit show “The Chew,” the episode was titled “Make Dinner Like a Pro.” Clinton Kelly, Carla Hall, Mario Batali and Michael Symon, were together on today’s episode. Daphne Oz was on maternity leave, and on yesterday’s show, they announced the birth of her baby boy.
Clinton asked if dinnertime at your house is like an amateur hour, and offered to teach the viewers how to “Make Dinner Like a Pro.” They spoke about their last year’s Halloween costumes and this year they chose from a plastic pumpkin to see who they will pick a costume for. Each seemed pleased with their selection, and fans will be waiting to see who they are this year and who chose the costume for them. Last year, Clinton was Bad Sandy from Grease; Michael was Kim Kardashian; Mario was the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland, and Carla was Rick James.
Then they did a wine pairing with Halloween candy and had fun with that discussion. The audience seemed very happy with the merlot and Twix bars. Michael decided that candy and wine suck together. So Carla made French Onion Soup and sautéed the onions and made them brown by scraping the bottom of the pan. She let it cook for nearly an hour and at the end of the show; she will put it all together.
Michael helped Qiana, a Chew viewer cook like a pro. She is tired of making boring food for her children. They made Chicken Scaloppini with lightly pounded skinless chicken breasts. Mario stated that he was not a fan of chicken breasts, but this was moist and delicious. Qiana went home with a shopping bag containing all the ingredients, so she could make the dish at home for her family.
Next segment was taped with Mario and Bradley Cooper, who stars in the new movie “Burnt.” Bradley joined Mario at his restaurant Del Posto in Manhattan. Bradley did work in restaurants before he became a star and admitted to cleaning 625 chickens in one day. They made Agnolotti with White Truffle Butter Sauce that looked so scrumptious and is the specialty of Chef Mark Ladner at Del Posto.
Clinton introduced Robin Thicke, who has a new song “Back Together” with Nikki Minaj, and together they made Fall Pot Roast. As the fall becomes more like winter, pot roast is always there as an autumn treat. They asked Robin several questions in Celebrity Egg Timer and had a few laughs.
Carla’s French Onion Soup was ready, and she put it in bowls topped with baguette and gruyere cheese that was certainly good enough for a pro on this episode of “The Chew.”
