The coldest winter ever brings the hottest Awards shows to the scene, with a lot at stake, or maybe just an ego. While the longest running Independent recognition show ReMix Awards Show 2015, is in the books. There are two awards recognition shows waiting to pull off the best in accolades; like a battle at Pearl Harbor and Afghanistan.
A majority of national fans, who claimed to have forgotten about a recent boycott of cable, were glued to the BET network watching their favorite celebrity receive honors at the popular Soul Train Awards. Emphatically, St. Louis’ nominees were glued to Facebook harassing contacts, friends and family for votes; a process where you have to get your fans to vote you in, and vote again to keep you in the lead.
Traffic Music Awards Show, after a year hiatus, will return for three days in 2016. And the ego stroking brand new St. Louis Star Award; a prototype of Traffic Music Awards, far as voting guidelines, is new to the Independent scene. And is already battling to keep its nominees in check. The Hip Hop Record Label is heating up with war of words, between competing labels. There are many other categories, such as the High School Male and Female of the Year.
St. Louis Star Awards: Proceeds from this televised award show will go to the ‘AVADEWORLD’ Non-Profit foundation (see www.avadeworld.com) in order to achieve the goal of providing greatly needed resources to our St Louis Public school students. Traffic Music Awards Show, which has a private poll page, seems to be calm by the river. With a larger array of categories, including who is hot in hip hop, R&B, stage presentation and modeling. The show is more experienced of the two, but with the same objectives: Get your fans to the event and vote!
Both events voting deadlines end by December 31, 2015, with the respective shows taking place next year.
Saint Louis Budget Nightlife is up for Blogger of the Year and Promoter of the Year at Traffic Music Awards. For St. Louis Star Awards, Rodney Norman’s company The Newsletter, is up for Person of the Year, and is currently battling with some tough competition in the world of Independent crafts. There is still time to nominate someone, and if they have a huge following on Facebook, they could make the top 3. Click links for more info….
