Santa Claus is coming to town, and then he’s heading straight to Mister Ed’s Elephant Museum. Tomorrow, Nov. 29 marks the museum’s Annual Santa Claus Arrival Celebration.
Admission to the museum is free, and reservations are not required to come out and meet Santa. All children are welcome to spend time with the man behind some of the best toys and other gifts, and even have a photo taken with him. And as an early Christmas gift, Santa will be handing out $5 gift cards to every child, redeemable at Mister Ed’s before Dec. 31. Santa will arrive at Mister Ed’s at 2 p.m. and be onsite until 4 p.m.
How does Santa travel? Some say he takes a sleigh pulled by reindeers. While this may be true of Christmas Eve travel methods, Santa likes to keep the element of surprise every year when he comes to Mister Ed’s. Santa’s been coming to Mister Ed’s since 1975 and has used almost every mode of transportation since, to keep guests guessing and eagerly awaiting his next arrival to see what he will be in/on. Some of the modes of transportation Santa has used in the past have included a hot air balloon, a one-horse open sleigh, a Ford Thunderbird convertible, and several others. How will he arrive tomorrow? Click here to make a guess and possibly be entered to win a holiday tin of homemade fudge. To learn more about this event, click here.
Mister Ed’s always shows generous support for those in the community. In 2013 they even gave away 50 free Christmas trees to area families. In honor of small business appreciation Saturday, they are offering free homemade fudge and 75% off selected gifts with every $10 purchase.
Tomorrow’s event is for kids, but on Dec. 12 there is another Santa event that’s going straight to the dogs…and cats, and other furry, feathery, scaly friends. For this event, known as Santa Paws, Santa will once more be making an appearance at Mister Ed’s, ready to take pet photos. The animals don’t even need to tell Santa what they want. He’ll already have treats ready for them! Pet owners may bring their own cameras to the session or have a professional portrait taken by Picture This Portraits & Special Events for a $10 donation to the Adams County SPCA. Attendees who bring a donation for the shelter will receive a free ¼ pound of fudge. Santa Paws is happening from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on December 12. To read more about it click here.
