Monday morning, in a new video, the Islamic State or ISIS, has issued a new warning to the European coalition and the United States. ISIS states that those countries that help with or take part in the airstrikes over Syria will suffer the same fate that Paris suffered Friday. The attacks on Paris were made up of 6 separate attacks that took the lives of over 120 people and injured over 300. The attacks that took place at the concert hall Le Bataclan was the site that suffered with the most casualties of 89.The video released was to intimidate those who survived the attack. One man in the video said, “We say to the states that take part in the crusader campaign that, by God, you will have a day, God willing, like France’s and by God, as we struck France in the center of its abode in Paris, then we swear that we will strike America at its center in Washington.” The U.S. Department of Homeland Security would not comment on the video but said it has not received information indicating a potential attack.
After the terrorist’s rampage in Paris on Friday night, the French government started bombardments over the airspace over Syria. French fighter jets launched their biggest raids in Syria to date on Sunday, targeting the Islamic State’s stronghold in the city of Raqqa, in coordination with U.S. forces. The airstrikes were ordered by President François Hollande, who vowed to be “unforgiving with the barbarians” of the Islamic State after the carnage in Paris. He declared the actions against the French people were a declaration of war. Today, the President of France, François Hollande, that it would not end its air strikes against Islamic State in Syria and Iraq.
As Paris and France tries to heal and mourn those who were lost on Friday night, Le Bataclan released this statement regarding the deadly rampage, (this is the concert hall where most of the causalities were at during the attack)
“Dear friends, No words is enough to express the magnitude of our grief. Our thoughts are with the victims, the injured and their families. You are many to want you collect the Bataclan, unfortunately the authorities have still need to work on the spot. We will keep you informed as soon as it is possible to you gather in front of the room. We thank you for your support which affects us deeply.”
In the United States the threat of retaliation and the question of bringing refugees who may or may not have been properly screen for terrorist activities has caused Governors of Illinois, Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Arizona, Indiana, Massachusetts, Louisiana, Michigan, Alabama, Texas and Arkansas ,a majority of them Republican, have said that they are seeking to stop the relocation of new Syrian refugees to their states out of fear that violent extremists posing as refugees might gain entry to the country. President Obama called the actions those Governors “shameful.” Yet many residents of the United States agree with Governor’s position.
