In New York City you see every type of car, small, suv, long, practical, and incredibly luxurious. So it’s tough to see a lot of the same vehicles on the road consistently, not true for the RX 350. I saw so many RX 350’s in these NYC streets that it was quiet unbelievable. I had the pleasure of driving the F Sport, which had, amazing giddy up, great safety features and handled like a dream.
My week long road trip with the RX 350 F Sport which I call my #WeekBae, was filled with bumpy roads, driving up the FDR drive hitting 120 flawlessly, and knocking the hottest tunes from Manhattan to Jamaica Queens. In all my test drives, I’ve never seen so many of the same car that I was driving in one week like I saw RX 350. It felt like I was in an RX 350 commercial, everywhere I turned I saw a new one, different color, different year. I had no idea how popular this SUV really was, so lets see why it’s so popular:
Price- avg $49,000+
Performance- 3.5-liter V6 engine, 270hp, 7.7 (0-60), 25hwy
Safety- pre-collision system, safety connect (features automatic collision notification, stolen vehicle location, emergency assistance button (sos) and enhanced roadside assistance services.) blind spot monitor, backup camera, visibility technology (water-repellent front-door glass, led tail lamps, integrated fog lamps and more), smart stop technology (reduce engine power when braking), active front headrests (reduce the space between the occupant’s head and headrest to decrease whiplash), vehicle theft-deterrent and engine-immobilizer system and more.
Misc- bluetooth connection (A+), the gps is real easy and gives good directions, there’s also a remote touch that helps you navigate the menu on the RX (although I prefer a touchscreen) and lastly the 15-speaker Mark Levinson premium surround sound audio system pushes 330 watts of power to make your ride to and from work the ultimate experience.
Great for- Families, soccer moms/dads, single or newly married and experienced drivers.
Overall, the RX 350 F Sport gets a 4 out of 5, some of the drawbacks are not enough passenger space in the back seat for an SUV, although there’s a parking assist feature, it does not have the heightened color coded turn parking feature that’s standard in most of the comparable vehicles in this class. The RX is very much recommended in every way, style, practicability, convenience and performance.
