Suspicions confirmed. Yesterday a group of concerned citizens sat at a Ter Los Angeles, California coffee shop discussing the tragic terrorist attacks that took place on Friday the 13th in central Paris killing more than 100 people and leaving the nation and the world in a state of shock and fear. A few pundits in the group espoused thoughts that these bad guys could easily have arrived in Europe disguised as a refugee. “Sure they could have a child by the hand or just flow with the crowd,” said one of the group. “It would easy to disguise yourself as a migrant,” said another. And now we’re hearing that might be true. According to the UK Mirror, Deputy public order minister Nikos Toskas, said one of the men behind the sickening attack that killed at least 127 people landed on the island of Leros in the Med. He stated: “On the case of the Syrian passport found at the scene of the terrorist attack, we announce that the passport holder passed from Leros on October 3, 2015 where he was identified based on EU rules. “We do not know if the passport was checked by other countries through which the holder likely passed.” CNN is of course all over this story updating it by the minute and confirming that one of the terrorist did make their way into the country by masquerading as a refugee.
The UK Mirror wrote that Islamic State extremists have bought 2,000 Syrian passports in China – and could pose as refugees to unleash terror attacks on Europe, an MP revealed last month. Home Secretary Theresa May was alerted to the scam by a Tory MP. Today there is fear and loathing, along with complete chaos in France as its citizens, many of whom spent sleepless nights glued to the tube try to make sense out of this horrific incident for which ISIS has taken responsibility. “It is an act of war that was committed by a terrorist army, a jihadist army against France,” said a visibly shaken President Francois Hollande. Travel to and from France has also been disrupted with flight delays and cancellations. So if you are booked on a flight to Paris be sure to check with your airline before heading to the airport. If you are traveling around Europe it’s best to avoid Paris for the time being until things settle down.
It is also another wakeup call telling all citizens in the world to remain vigilant and unfortunately keep on our toes because this could, and has, happened anywhere. Funny thing, Donald Trump may be on to something about building a wall to keep out immigrants, perhaps Europe needs to do that and/or vet those refugees better who are flocking there from Syria. Stephen Colbert gave a solemn opinion on the Paris situation (see video).
