Fresh fruit is abundant in the summertime. Fresh fruit is the mixologists best friend. Summer is the time to farmer’s markets that pop in every town and city to get the freshest picked fruits available. Use fresh fruit to make exciting cocktails when firing up the grill.
The following cocktail can be used as a frozen drink, but for those people who get brain freeze quickly, use chilled fruit to make cool cocktails brain freeze free.
Tequila Watermelon Splash
1 Cup Diced Chilled Fresh Watermelon
½ each Lime juice
1½ oz. Casa Noble Blanco Tequila
1 oz. Simple Syrup*
*To make simple syrup combine one cup of water with one cup of sugar in heavy bottomed pot. Bring sugar and water mixture to a boil and stir well to make sure all of the sugar is mixed in to the water. Store in a screw cap bottle at room temperature.
Combine the watermelon, lime juice and simple syrup in a blender.
Blend until a smooth puree.
Add the Casa Noble Blanco Tequila and give one more pulse in the blender.
Pour into a wine stem, garnish with a lime wheel and a straw, and then serve.
For a frozen drink blend ice in the blender. Make sure to add enough ice to get a slushy consistancy
