“Dancing With the Stars takes its toll on another contestant as Tamar Braxton had to end her involvement with the show. According to Cinema Blend, Tamar does not have pneumonia as she first suspected, it is something more life threatening. Doctors discovered that she has severe blood clot issues in both her lungs and if she continues in the competition, it could end her life. Tamar went into the hospital on Monday, Nov. 9, 2015, during rehearsals. Even though she was absent for most of the show, she escaped elimination because she returned for the last 20 minutes to participate in a group dance with fellow contestant Nick Carter.
Tamar posted her decision to withdraw from the competition on Nov. 11, 2015, on her Instagram page. She posted a picture of herself lying on a hospital bed with her professional dance partner, Val Chmerkovskiy sitting on the bed beside her. She wrote, “With a heavy heart I regret to inform you that my season of #dwts has to come to an end along with the rest of my tour dates with @musicbykem. After yesterday’s final #dwts performance I went back to the hospital (after the doctors didn’t want me to leave in the first place) only to find out that I don’t have pneumonia but something way more serious and that is having several P.E.’s (blood clots in both sides of my lungs). As you all know I will be the first to always encourage anyone to push through any obstacle that comes along one’s way. But in this case, my health is my current obstacle. And in TRUE #tamartian form I must go about this the exact same way as I would anything else. I woke up to a mirror and saw myself this morning and that makes me the winner because that almost wasn’t the case. Take care of yourselves… I love you and thank you ALL for your support❤️ p.s. Big hugs and kisses to my boo @iamvalc for being beyond a friend, brother and the BEST partner EVER.”
Entertainment Tonight, Val said the reason that Tamar competed on Monday’s show is because she didn’t want to let her partner down. He said that this competition should never be like that because it should be fun. However, Tamar isn’t the only one who needed to quit “DWTS” due to health issues. Bindi Irwin had to leave because her toenails started breaking off and her feet began bleeding and Kim Zolciak suffered a mini-stroke.
“Dancing With The Stars” is not for the weak and it takes determination, stamina, and constant practicing to compete. A source told People, that the show’s producers are wondering how they are going to fill her vacancy. One thought they are kicking around is bringing PenaVega back who was eliminated on Monday’s show. Do you think the “DWTS” contestants are being pushed to the extreme by having to learn new dance moves within a short time? Is it too strenuous for those who aren’t used to so much exercise?
