Competing on Survivor is probably the best experience any fan of Survivor could ever dream of. Second to that though, would be to get a chance to experience the show up close and personal as a member of the exclusive circle of press who get to be there right alongside Jeff Probst, the cameras and crew, and of course the cast, as the adventure begins filming on location each season. Gordon Holmes of XfinityTV.com is one of the lucky ones. Besides maybe Dalton Ross of EW.com, Gordon is one of the most popular and important Survivor writers out there. He is the co-founder and curator of the Survivor Hall of Fame and has covered the show for several seasons as one of the top press members. His weekly “Survivor Power Rankings” pits him against recent Survivor players as they rank current players each week, and they have become a must-follow activity for Survivor fans as they progress through the season.
Gordon has joined me now for each of the last eight seasons of Survivor, usually as a “Season Preview” podcast. This time around, for the “Second Chance” season, we thought it would be a better idea to chat after the Premiere Episode, so that Gordon could share with us his personal experiences out in Cambodia during the first three days of filming.
While in Cambodia, Gordon was given exclusive pre-game interviews with each contestant, and was there for the opening “boat scramble” where the contestants raced to get supplies and retrieve the first large bag of rice. He witnessed first-hand some strategic talk at each camp, and watched live as Kelley Wentworth made a daring grab for the hidden Immunity Idol during the first Immunity Challenge. He also sat in on the two-hour Tribal Council that saw Vytas sent from the game as the first booted player.
Needless to say, Gordon has a lot of behind-the-scenes info and intel on what went down out there to begin Season 31. You don’t want to miss this exclusive chat with Gordon Holmes!!! To listen, click on the video above, or click here.
