Imaginary friends are in trouble in the next “Supernatural” season 11 episode, “Just My Imagination,” directed by Richard Speight, Jr. On Monday, Nov. 30, the CW released a sneak peek teasing what to expect as Sam and Dean investigate a police report about a murder.
In this “SPN” episode, Sam is shocked when his childhood imaginary friend, Sully (guest star Nate Torrence), makes an unexpected appearance. Not only can Sam not understand why he’d see Sully now, but surprisingly, Dean can see him as well. Flashbacks reveal young Sam’s friendship with Sully and why he needed him.
The “Just My Imagination” sneak peek (above) shows Sam and Dean following up on the murder of an imaginary friend (a man dressed as a unicorn) already seen (dead) in the promo for the episode. Posing as trauma counselors (those sweaters!) with child services, Sam and Dean tell the child’s mother they’re following up on a police report. Maddie’s mother thinks it’s just her daughter’s active imagination; she made up a unicorn man, Sparkle, and she thinks he’s dead in her room. (Dean calling Sparkle a “manicorn” probably doesn’t do much to help their credibility as trauma counselors.) Sam takes point when they talk to Maddie, and he asks her about the night before, Sparkle and why she doesn’t want to go back into her room. “All of the blood,” she tells him.
“Supernatural” season 11 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on the CW. What do you think of this episode 8 “Just My Imagination” clip?
