Over the long Memorial Day weekend (May 22-25, 2015), the 18th annual Sun Valley Wellness Festival took place and it was filled with dozens of speakers, one-on-one hands-on sessions, movement classes, vendor booths and it took place at the spectacular Sun Valley Inn. A few of the topics of classes at this year’s festival included mediation, weight loss, food, motivation, transformation, and many more.
This year, there were three keynote speakers which included Panache Desai, Elizabeth Gilbert (‘Eat, Pray, Love’ author), and Mark Nepo. Kyle Cease, “Comedy Central’s 2009 Comedian of the Year” and winner of the “Stand-Up Showdown” was also one of the speakers at this year’s festival. His combination of humor and talk about transformation was not only inspiring, but hilarious.
Agapi Stassinopoulos was also one of the main speakers at this festival. Her inspirational speech included stories about her famous sister, Arianne Huffington and her mother who was always encouraging and supporting.
The Sun Valley Inn was the perfect setting for the festival and even though the weather forecast included a rainy four-day weekend…there were long periods of sun throughout the weekend.
In addition to the nightly keynote speakers, there were dozens of classes and workshops that allowed participants to delve in deeper to real world issues at the 2015 Sun Valley Wellness Festival.
Panache Desai is an inspirational and motivational speaker who conducted two classes that were packed with participants. His sense of humor and gift of being a great story teller won the audience over immediately. He recently wrote a book after being told by Oprah that he needed to. “Trust me” she said to him in an interview that aired on the OWN network. He said that he took it as a sign. Panache wrote “Discovering Your Soul Signature.”
This year, the hands on room included over 20 separate booths that various types of health practitioners participated in. Many brought massage tables, or set up beds in their booths and participants were able to try out their services at a reduced rate. Some practiced Thai massage, reflexology, massage, Henna tattoos, or were psychics. A few were booked solid with appointments for the entire four days of the festival.
Many vendors came from around the world to sell their products and books. And attendees of the festival would visit the vendor booths in between sessions. See the video above for more information.
