Nov. 3 is National Sandwich Day, and Subway doesn’t want you to go hungry. Therefore, Subway has made it possible for everyone to have a sub for lunch. To celebrate National Sandwich Day, Subway is offering two sandwiches for the price of one when customers purchase a 30-ounce fountain drink, according to WGNO News on Tuesday.
Beginning Nov. 3, Subway also marks the launch of the #SaveLunchBreak movement where National BOGO (“Buy One, Give One”) will be available at participating Subway locations. That means customers who purchase any 6-inch or footlong sub, plus a 30-ounce drink can also get another sub of equal or lesser value to give to someone of their choice.
CNN reported that almost everyone has a favorite sandwich. Subway has a variety of sandwiches, and surely a sub can be anyone’s sandwich of choice on Nov. 3. The history of the sub goes back centuries, but it was popularized in 1700s England by John Montagu, the fourth Earl of Sandwich, who ordered beef between slices of bread. He did this so that he could eat while continuing to play cards.
In honor of National Sandwich Day, many people will join the celebration by eating a sub of some kind. A survey has shown that seven in 10 workers take a lunch break that is 30 minutes or less. Some people take at least 15 minutes for lunch. Others take longer for lunch, especially if they want to sneak in a nap or run errands. Enjoy National Sandwich Day no matter which sandwich you eat.
