There has been one night each month of this year, so far, that friends come together and socialize in a very stylish setting amongst signature cocktails and unique merchandise available for purchase. Everybody knows that this is the winning formula to ‘Girls Night Out’ at PGA National Resort & Spa. Every woman should experience this stress-free formula to a Thursday evening wind down.
Each month has come complete with a particular theme that carries through the evening, along with a specific local charity, highlighted and brought to awareness. In January, it was ‘Out with the Old, In with the New’ and Feeding South Florida was the charity that was targeted. February brought us ‘Spring Into High Fashion’ along with a fashionista contest and fundraising for Voice For The Children, Inc. . March was a month to come together to support the Junior League of the Palm Beaches. April was a real treat as Joella Cain, author of ‘How To Be Rich, Young & Beautiful on $1.98’ made a special appearance for a meet & greet and book signing. This was just perfect for ‘Girls Night Out’. A regional makeup artist from Trish McEvoy was offering makeup touch-ups. Charity of choice was the Richard David Kann Melanoma Foundation.
In the month of May, as a tribute to the Kentucky Derby, women were urged to wear their most unique and stylish hat for a Derby competition of a different kind. The theme centered around ‘Wear your best fancy hat and shop.’ It took place on Thursday, May 21, 2015, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.. Special musical guest and local DJ/violinist, Timothee Lovelock, performed. Mint juleps were aplenty and derby-style food specials cured a hearty appetite. Two adorable dogs were eager to be adopted as the charity of the evening was Furry Friends Adoption & Clinic. The dogs were the center of attention. Many chic boutiques offering all shapes and sizes of hats, the new trendy palazzo pant, Swarovski dabbed flip flops, copper jewelry and diamonds for the delectable and much more brought out the women to celebrate ‘Girls Night Out’ to socialize and shop. The winning derby hat was voted as such by the other guests as Sally of the Mo & Sally Morning show on Kool 105.5, facilitated the contest. The winner was well-deserving of the prize as her hat was a sight to behold adorned with little bits of that and little bits of this.
Could you ask for a more enjoyable way to spend a Thursday evening? June may be just the month to grab some of your best girlfriends and head over to PGA National Resort & Spa for another fantastic ‘Girls Night Out.’
