The final season of Strike Back premieres tonight, and as usual the Cinemax series is one that you don’t want to miss. Season four (or season five if you’re counting back to the UK beginning) takes the heroes of Section 20 into Asia for one final showdown against yet another challenging enemy, and this time it’s for all the marbles.
Here’s the official synopsis for tonight’s ‘Episode 31’:
On the eve of an historic nuclear-weapons summit with a North Korean delegation, Robin Foster (Tim McInnerny), the British Ambassador to Thailand, learns that his daughter Chloe (Eliza Hope Bennett) has been kidnapped by a ruthless Bangkok gang led by expatriate Ray McQueen (Max Beesley).
Racing against the clock to locate her, Scott (Sullivan Stapleton), Stonebridge (Philip Winchester) and their Section 20 team – including boss Phillip Locke (Robson Green) and agents Julie Richmond (Michelle Lukes) and Kim Martinez (Milauna Jackson) – track the thugs through the canals and streets of Thailand. When their efforts stall, Foster ends up following his own instincts, despite the chance that things could get worse before they get better.
The episode is co-written by executive producer Michael J. Bassett, who also directed, alongside James Dormer and Tim Vaughan. Dormer has been with the show since Cinemax season two and Vaughan co-wrote multiple episodes last season, so this episode really is a family effort – like the rest of this final season.
Guest stars tonight include Tim McInnerny (Spooks), Max Beesley (Suits), UFC competitor and former The Ultimate Fighter coach Michael Bisping, Eliza Hope Bennett (Broadchurch) and the first television appearance from Michelle Yeoh.
Aside from its regular timeslot, the episode is scheduled to re-air immediately at both 11 PM and midnight ET/PT, as well as on Saturday, August 1 at 9 PM and 11:30 PM; on Sunday, August 2 at 5 PM; on Monday, August 3 at 8 PM and 12:15 AM; and on Wednesday, August 5 at 9 PM and 11:55 PM.
It will likewise be available on demand on Cinemax’s MAX GO platform, as is the entirety of the series so far. But don’t miss your chance to see this episode live, as it’s definitely one you’ll be talking about with your friends this weekend.
Strike Back premieres tonight at 10 PM ET/PT on Cinemax.
