During the peak travel season at the Walt Disney World Resorts, you can spend more time standing in line than actually enjoying the attractions. In fact, some visitors skip attractions all together because of the long lines. Do not waste your time in line or feel the need to have to skip your favorite attractions just because the line is long. There are ways to make the time standing in line at Disney World much shorter. This includes knowing what time of year to visit when crowds are thinner.
When people think of the Walt Disney World Resorts, chances are they are primarily thinking about the Magic Kingdom. Because of this, Magic Kingdom is the one park with the longest lines and heaviest crowds. Many locals avoid visiting Magic Kingdom for this reason. Over the years, many visitors have discovered that the best time to visit the Magic Kingdom is Super Bowl Sunday. A majority of guests will be watching the football game instead of enjoying any of the theme parks. On this day the Magic Kingdom is quiet and lines are relatively short. If you go on this day, you will definitely not feel like you are being pushed through the park like a herd of cattle.
Another slow time of the year to visit any of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks is starting the Monday after Thanksgiving through the Friday before Christmas. During these times guests are either preparing to enjoy the holidays at home or they are getting ready to spend the holidays at the Walt Disney World Resorts.
Take advantage of these non-peak times of the year to visit the Walt Disney World Resorts in Central Florida. During these times Disney has a tendency to lower room rates making it more affordable. Plus with the occupancy lower than normal you will have a wider variety of Disney Resorts to choose from. Plus, remember, lower occupancy equals shorter lines.
Visitors will discover that some of the worst times to visit Disney World is during the winter holidays. Especially from the Friday before Christmas through the Sunday after the New Year. Other busy times include the “Spring Break Season” and “Pre-Back-to-School Season.” Spring Break Season generally runs from mid-March through early May. Schools nationwide take their spring break at different times making the parks busy for almost two whole months.
The Pre-Back-to-School Season is also one of the busiest times for three reasons. One, people tend to have a lot going on over the summer, camp, sports, swim lessons, summer school and so on. They end up saving their vacation for the end, just before school begins. Two, summer vacation goes by so quick that people tend to forget to go away and book that last minute trip. Three, parents make promises. Think back and ask yourself if your parents ever bribed you with something so you would behave? Well, many parents do that and some tell their kids that if they behave over the summer they will take them to Walt Disney World at the end of it. With that bribe many kids shock their parents and actually behave. Thus forcing a last minute trip to Disney World.
Hopefully this will help you when planning to visit Disney World. Just remember, the slow times of the year will not only reduce your time in line, but may reduce the amount you pay for your vacation.
