Karli gave her father a sneak peak at one of her signature dishes that she will serve. She showed the audience and viewers show she make macaroni and cheese using many different types of cheese.
Ingredients include the following items:
1 lb. of macaroni pasta
1/4 lb. of salted butter
2 quarts of half and half
8 oz. of cubed sharp cheddar
8 oz. of shredded sharp cheddar
8 oz. of cubed medium cheddar
8 oz. of cubed mozzarella
8 oz. of shredded mozzarella
8 oz. of cubed Colby Jack
8 oz. cubed cream cheese
Salt and pepper
Bring a pot of water to a boil to cook the pasta. Add salt to the water and cook pasta for six to seven minutes. Leave the pasta slightly undercooked. Drain and toss it with two tablespoons of butter. Set pasta aside while you make the cheese sauce.
Melt four tablespoons of butter in a large nonstick pot. Add one quart of half and half and warm through without boiling. Add all the cubed cheeses starting with the cream cheese. Stir consistently until all the cubed cheeses have been added. You may need to add more half and half, if the sauce becomes too thick. Season with salt and pepper. Add the sauce to the pasta, and place the combination in a buttered baking dish.
Top with half the shredded cheese. Fold the shredded cheese into the dish. If the mixture is too dry, add more half and half. Top the dish with remaining shredded cheese. Place the remaining butter over the top of the entire dish. Bake the mac and cheese dish uncovered at 400 degrees until golden brown for approximately 45-50 minutes. Eat and enjoy.
