Salmon and Tuna Creations® are perfect for dinner too.
We all know fish is an important element in our diet, but many of us do not eat the recommended weekly amount of two 3-ounce servings. Many studies have shown eating fish twice a week protects the heart against erratic or deadly cardiac rhythmic issues. Fish also lowers blood pressure and heart rate, will improve blood vessel health and at higher intake levels can ease inflammation throughout the body. StarKist Creations® provides us with the fish diet we need, while focusing on great taste and ease of serving.
Opening the StarKist Salmon Creations® pouch was easy. On the side of the pouch is a small indentation. Grasping the edge, simply pull open. The pull tab makes the pouch a true on-the-go product. No knife or scissor cuts necessary and the top slides off easily.
StarKist Salmon Creations® has done it. The lemon envelops the skinless, boneless salmon, adding that perfect enhancement to the fish. An undertone of dill creates a delicate balance between the salmon, lemon and of course adds a “pickle” flavor. Lemon is the go-to for any fish entree and the dill is reminiscent of a tuna or salmon salad with diced pickle to pull it all together. The three ingredients are distinct, as separate entities and yet make a mouthwatering combination.
The first thought was to create a salad based on the lemon, dill and salmon. A salad made of arugula, cherry tomatoes, a bit of diced sweet onion, leaf lettuce and the StarKist Salmon Creations® lemon and dill to top it off was the perfect lunch treat. Filling, delightful and healthy. The lemon and dill flavors went well with an ice cold glass of lemonade to complete the meal.
For dinner, the choice was to use the lemon and dill enhanced salmon to design a new twist on an old favorite; bruschetta bread (recipe below). Bringing the lemon and dill to the tomato and garlic bread topping added a “zing” to the whole design. The salmon is light enough for an evening meal, but filling and great tasting.
StarKist Salmon Creations® lemon and dill is a winner. The lemon and dill delights the palate. The salmon is fresh tasting. The pouch design makes lunch and dinner a breeze for an on-the-go meal. Lemon and dill marinated salmon is perfect on crackers as a snack or as an appetizer for a gathering and the ideas for entrees are endless.
The one addition that would make the pouch design absolutely perfect would be to have a resealable top. The salmon would remain fresher when not entirely used in one sitting. Using the StarKist Salmon Creations® lemon and dill packet on crackers, for instance, not all of the packet was used. Resealing the top of the pouch would keep the lemon and dill marinated salmon fresher in the refrigerator until the next use.
