A Spokane, Washington family is turning to social media to find their missing dog, who was rescued last month. They need your help in spreading the word on the missing pooch, who suffers from a heart problem and could die without medication. A Facebook community page has been set up to aid in their search.
Renesmee, a 5-year-old Chihuahua, was adopted by her family in October from Spokanimal shelter after Renesmee was flown by Wings of Rescue from Tulare County Animal Control in California. Renesmee was underweight, had diarrhea and a heart problem one week before she went missing around 9 p.m. on October 26. Renesmee is described as very scared and skittish and will not come when called. The little dog weighs only six pounds but is very fast.
There were a lot of sighting the first four days after the family put up flyers all over town. Online ads were placed, every vet, dog groomer, pet store, shelter and breeder were contacted trying to find Renesmee. Social media networking may be the best method of locating the lost Chi and has a proven track record of reuniting families with their lost pets.
The last sighting reported said someone else trying to catch Renesmee was on October 30 just after 8 p.m. on Mission near the railroad tracks in front of Spokane Community College. A couple of witnesses who came forward believes this person may have caught her since there have been no further sightings. The family is in constant contact both online and in person where she checks daily for someone trying to ‘flip’ Renesmee. It’s possible that whoever found her has decided to keep her for their own.
Renesmee was spayed shortly before being adopted and is also microchipped. A certain type of scanner is needed to read the chip. An update was posted on Facebook: Help find my Chi
“She is micro-chipped to me and she has a heart problem which requires ongoing vet care or she could die. As you know she is an older dog and just had surgery 10 days before you found her. If you have found our dog or have any info on where she might be please call us asap. We will pay a reward for her with no questions asked. Please call us 24 hrs a day or just take her to SCRAPS. You can remain anonymous and just tell them you found her. We just want to get her back. I will keep posting online and having to print and post flyers all over town until she is returned. Myself and my child are crying and miss her very much.”
Please share Renesmee with friends and family in the Spokane area. Social media has proven an effective tool in locating lost pets. This sweet little dog is in danger of dying without her heart medication, and the person who has her may not be aware of her health issues.
