Special live events streamed to movie theaters today from the best of performing arts facilities include the best of performers in operas, ballets, stage plays and more. Fandango announces on October 31 its “THE METROPOLITAN OPERA: TANNHÄUSER LIVE,” with its redemptive story that is to be reprised November 4.
Also, KPBS announces on October 31 the TANNHÄUSER performance. KPBS reports on the event and provides filmed, streamed video. Fathom Events broadcasts live Met performances in movie theaters around the country. They tell that the Wagner’s early masterpiece is conducted by James Levine and marks its first return to the Met stage in more than a decade. Further, they share that today’s leading Wagnerian tenor Johan Botha takes on the daunting title role, opposite soprano Eva-Maria Westbroek as Elisabeth. The audience will see behind-the-scenes footage and interviews, during the intermission.
