The Sarasota-Manatee County USBC Association will conduct its annual meeting — open to all members — at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Hall, on Wilkinson Road in Sarasota, at 1 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 16).
The meeting will include election of officers (including the office of president for a two-year term), committee reports and full budget and financial information. For additional information, contact association manager Terry Wood at 704-5259.
In conjunction with the annual meeting, the SMCBA board of directors will need to appoint another association manager because Wood has submitted his resignation, effective Aug. 31.
Wood has been an SMCBA mainstay since 2001, and he has served as association manager since 2006, leading the SMCBA through a merger process that culminated in the Aug. 1, 2007 merge with the Sarasota-Manatee Women’s Bowling Association. His resignation stems from a full-load work schedule in connection with a new job, which will limit his ability to dedicate sufficient time to association meetings, functions and tournaments.
