Americans from every corner of the nation will be ready to participate in and support Sing it America’s September 14 celebration of the Year of Thanksgiving for the National Anthem Bicentennial. According to Sing It America official Selena Owens, Communications Director the organization will be releasing important details concerning the historic event that will be held on September 14, 2015 on the Washington Mall at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C.
Selena Owens will discuss on the We the Kids show the importance of why the year of observance was launched last year by a US Senate unanimous vote Historical Commemorative Resolution #550. The resolution designated that the year of celebration would be Sept 14 2014 to Sept 14, 2015.
The organization is expecting tens of thousands of participants from around the nation to honor the Star Spangled Banner that day and their theme “From Dawn’s Early Light to Dawn Early Light” reflects that. In fact, each hour of the celebration honoring the Star Spangled Banner will be filled with family friendly activities as wells group and individual participatory events. There will also be musicians, Crowd-Sing-A-Longs, musicians, Yacht Club patriotic decorations, Congressional hour, possible fireworks and much more jubilant festivities.
It is important to note that many Americans may not be aware of the historic role the National Anthem plays in the nation’s history. This may be why the National Anthem’s celebration is more essential than at any time in America’s history. A recent Rasmussen report that as many as 15% of Millennials would allow for the Star Spangled Banner to be replaced for a one world friendly less militarily offensive tune.
Owens will also provide the We the Kids show details concerning the Leadership Luncheon that is being held Friday at the National Press Club. She will discuss how kids, families and everyone can be an integral part in bringing in excited crowds and supporters to the September celebration or help to create 50 state synced activities on Sept 14 2015.
